" , - in the following way Mykola Tomenko, Vice-Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has commented upon another series of State Awards, the order concerning which is published on the official web site of the President of Ukraine.
First of all, according to M. Tomenko today the honourable award "Hero of Ukraine" can be easily nominated to the people from the President´s team and businessmen: selling chicken or building in Ukraine ecologically danger plants as e.g. in Kaniv district of Cherkasy region.
Vice-Chairman stressed that first of all one may observe obscure approach to the awards system. "Today the decisions on the nominations of the state awards are adopted not only due to the official holidays but on the occasion of concerts, jubilees and birthdays", - he declared.
Secondly, M. Tomenko deems that "the fact that the Committee on State Awards and Heraldry is really working is also rather obscure as it is hard to believe that Viacheslav Bryukhovetskiy, Viacheslav Kyrylenko or Ivan Vakarchuk who are members of the Committee might have supported the decision on nomination to Leonid Chernovetsky the Order of Yaroslav Mudryi of the V degree in year 2008 or other "exotic" awards. It is more likely that decisions are adopted in some other, not public way", - he is convinced.
"Thirdly, it seems that the quantity of people who receive the nominations annually increase in geometric progression. At least one may observe the Order of the President of Ukraine (№ 475/2009 from 23.06.2009), that was timed to the Constitution Day, according to which 142 orders and medals were awarded. The Constitution Day is great but not the biggest holiday in Ukraine", - Mykola Tomenko announced.
"Godsend" of the latest President´s order M. Tomenko calls the possibility to receive award for the work in the executive committee of the political party "Our Ukraine" or become Honoured Economist being the founder of the bank that is "rescued" today by the state.
"The total system of the state awards need cardinal changes but it is obvious that it is already the work for the next President", - the vice-Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine declared.
