Mykola Tomenko: In Lublin, Poland and Lithuania proved their Support of European Pursuits of Ukraine
On 26-27 June 2009, Mykola Tomenko, Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, took part in the sitting of the Parliamentary Assembly of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Sejm and Senate of the Republic of Poland and Seimas of the Lithuanian Republic held in Lublin (the Republic of Poland).
The members of the Parliamentary Assembly discussed the issues concerning "the Eastern Partnership", security, supply of power resources and development of relations in the filed of culture.
Due to the results of the negotiations, the Parties adopted and signed a joint Declaration concerning support of actions to ensure the full-fledged membership in "the Eastern Partnership" of all the relevant countries. The Declaration states that Ukraine´s accession to the European Union is a common priority and the participation of Belarus in "the Eastern Partnership" can bear positive influence on its economic and social transformation in the European orientation.
