The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the Bill "On Amendments to certain Legislative Acts" (re Simplified Procedure of scrutinizing the Issues regarding Assistance to the Families of the Perished) as a Basis

Pursuant to the Bill (Reg. No.1140), the court can immediately recognize an individual as the dead person "if it possible to presume the death of the individual of a certain accident due to the extraordinary situations of technological or natural character". The Bill also envisages that the bodies of legal entities and trade union committees, at the territory of which the accident took place, shall defend the rights of the relatives of such persons at their demand.
