The Committee on Agrarian Policy and Land Relations recommends that the Parliament rejects the Bill on Amendments to Article 20 of the Land Code of Ukraine

The Bill (Reg. No.3424) improves the effective procedure of changing land designation. Thus, it determines documents and environmental requirements to be taken into account while adopting a resolution on the change of land plot designation. The Bill envisages holding of public hearings in certain cases.

However, the Committee members believe that "the majority of regulations are of declarative nature and aim at the change of land plot designation for the extraction of mineral resources".
