The Conference launched its work on 27 May 2009, in Dublin, Ireland. The Forum gathered more than 300 parliament members from the OSCE PA member-States and is devoted to the global financial crisis and ways of its overcoming.
Within the scope of the general discussion, O.Bilorus, Head of the Ukrainian delegation, stressed the necessity to unite efforts in the struggle with the consequences of the global economic crisis. "The problems of global and regional economic development should become the subject of permanent discussion of the Assembly and its governmental part OSCE", - he stated. O.Bilorus also underscored that "present-day crisis is the first crisis of globalization".
O.Bilorus considers establishment of the global stabilization fund under the IMF as one of the possible ways out of the financial crisis. He also deems necessary to establish the UNO Economic Safety Council with imperative authorities in the process of reforming the United Nations Organization. Ukrainian parliament member also stressed the importance of "eliminating consequences of excessive deliberate dollarization of national economic of transitive Esatern European countries".
