Mykola Tomenko: It would be fair if the Representatives of "Baloha´s Team" resigned their Offices

Delivering his speech at the morning meeting of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on 20 May 2009, Mykola Tomenko, Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, highly appreciated the attempts of Viktor Baloha, ex-leader of the President´s Secretariat to launch a campaign against "favouritism", corruption and malfeasances in the surrounding of the President of Ukraine.

"I call on the team of the ex-leader of the President´s Secretariat to submit their resignations and resign offices they have occupied for the last two years", - stated M.Tomenko.

The Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stressed that they should also resign the decorations and titles of honour they were presented with when Baloha was in the office, as well as refuse from "the land in Kyiv region that was allocated to them".

"I hope that the President´s Secretariat will function as a creative administrative support center, not as an authority, as the common stand of the President, the Government and The Verkhovna Rada will enable efficient struggle with the financial and economic crisis", - he stated.
