Mykola Tomenko: Ukrainian Society can forgive Inflation, but not the Abolition of Popular Vote for the President
Today Mykola Tomenko delivered a speech at ІІ Congress of Political Scientists of Ukraine and stated that "optimal Constitution is the Constitution approved by politicians, experts and the society".
In his speech "Draft of the Constitution in the Opinion of Society, Experts and Politicians", M.Tomenko stated that "since the amendments to the Constitution are not coordinated between these groups, one can make a conclusion that the constitutional reform is unreal and unnatural in the nearest time".
Therefore, Mykola Tomenko suggests that the natural method of evolution be chosen in the discussion concerning the Constitution. The Constitution should be drafted by a scientific society, approved by the politicians, and ratified by the society. According to Mykola Tomenko, such a model will secure adoption of the most optimal and socially acceptable Fundamental Law.
