Oleksandr Lavrynovych, First Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, met the delegation of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Czech Parliament headed by Jan Hamacek, Committee Chairman.
As single representative legislative authorities, national parliaments of Ukraine and Czech Republic form a State strategic foreign policy of both countries. Oleksandr Lavrynovych, First Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, made the above-mentioned statement at the meeting. He stressed that Ukrainian-Czech political dialogue between all the branches of authority had recently been enhanced owing to the inter-parliamentary constituent.
"Ukraine and Czech Republic maintains close, efficient and mutually beneficial relations. Intensive cooperation at all the levels and in different forms is conducted with the Czech Parliament. It creates favourable conditions for the cooperation of all the branches of authority of our countries", - stated the First Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
Discussing cooperation within the scope of international organizations, the First Vice-Chairman stressed that in its pursuit towards European integration, Ukraine relied upon the assistance of the official Prague. He also declared the most urgent tasks: development and approval of visa-free regime between Ukraine and the EU, enhancement of international cooperation for the sake of energy safety in Europe, implementation of the project "Eastern Partnership" in accordance with Ukrainian national interests.
The Parties expressed their hopes for further exchange of Parliamentary delegations at the level of Parliamentary Committees and groups of friendship.
Within the scope of negotiations, the Parties discussed current state and prospects of trade and economic cooperation, consequences of the negative influence of the economic crisis on the leading sectors of national economies.
The representatives of the Czech Parliament expressed their gratitude to the First Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for an interesting conversation and invited Ukrainian peers to make a visit to their country after the early parliamentary elections scheduled in the Czech Republic after the summer holidays.
