Mykola Tomenko: It is necessary to bring Cultural Values back in Ukraine, not divide the Exhibits between the Museums
Today Mykola Tomenko, Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, stayed with a working visit in Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions. Presenting the program concerning return of cultural values, Mykola Tomenko informed the attendants that together with People´s Deputy Sviatoslav Oliynyk he registered the Bill "On Amendments to certain Laws of Ukraine concerning Simplification of the Import of Cultural Values in Ukraine". The Law exempts the import of cultural values in Ukraine from tax and simplifies the procedure of import. "The Law creates favourable conditions for the import of cultural values and provides for proper stocking of funds with the objects of art", - stated the author of the Bill.
According to M.Tomenko, it is the State that should promote return of cultural values to Ukraine.
M.Tomenko considers today´s event in the national reserve "Khortytsia" as "a positive example", as the valuable cultural monuments repurchased abroad by the businessmen from Zaporizhzhia were presented to the reserve.
The Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stressed that as one of the initiators of restoration of Zaporizhzhia Sich, he was also responsible for the stocking of this place with cultural monuments.
Within the scope of the visit, M.Tomenko will also meet the students and the faculty of the departments of history, philology and journalism of Zaporizhzhia National University.
