ON FRIDAY, THE 15TH OF MAY THE PLENARY MEETING OF THE FOURTH SESSION OF THE VERKHOVNA RADA OF UKRAINE OF THE SIXTH CONVOCATION WAS HELD.
Volodymyr Lytvyn, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine opening the morning meeting informed on the work of the Parliament during the plenary meetings 14-17 of April.
The Chairman announced the agenda.
V. Lytvyn read the Deputies Motions.
In total 68 motions were announced.
The chairmen read the text of the Bill of the Resolution according to which the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine should investigate the circumstances of the incident in Frankfurt on Main with the participation of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Yu. Lutsenko. For the period the investigation is held, Yu. Lutsenko should be evicted form the post. The results of the investigation of the Cabinet of Ministers should be directed to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Tuesday, the 19th of May.
The resolution comes into force from the moment of it being announced.
The Resolution was adopted by 423 votes.
The Chairman introduced for the voting the Resolution concerning the working till the 02. p.m. The Resolution was not upheld as well as the Resolution concerning working till 03. p.m.
The People´s Deputies voted for the removal incongruities in the text of adopted Law "On Associations of Local Self-Governing".
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has adopted a number of resolutions concerning pre-termed elections of certain village and city mayors on the 2nd of August 2009
The Bill on Banning of the Gambling Business in Ukraine was presented by the People´s Deputy Grygoriy Smityukh.
The Bill prohibits till the adoption of the special laws gambling business that is organization activity and public gambling games that are offered by the organizations of public gambling game with the aim of profit receipt.
The Cabinet of Ministers is charged with the elaboration and direction to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine the Bill on activity of gambling organizations and gambling games in specially separated gambling zones, within three months.
Chairperson of the Committee on Industrial and Regulatory Policy announced that the Committee recommends that the Parliament should adopt the Bill in the first reading and as a Law in its entirety.
The Deputies Ksenia Liapina and the People´s Deputy Sergiy Giordienko who announced that the Communist Party of Ukraine would vote for the total banning of the gambling business in Ukraine, suggested that one should differentiate between the "sound slogans in the Bill that have nothing to do with the reality" as the Bill envisages only temporary banning of the gambling Business.
Te Bill was adopted as a Law in its entirety by 340 votes
Next plenary meeting would be held on Tuesday, the 19th of May.
