Members of the committee have
scrutinized the Bill (Reg.№4411) on Strength of Army of Ukraine for
years 2009-2011, introduced by the President of Ukraine as immediate for the
scrutinizing in the Verkhovna Rada.
Yuriy Ekhanurov representing the Bill declared that it envisages the adoption of the quantity of the armed forces of Ukraine for the 31st of December 2009 at the rate of 200 thousand people in particular 150 thousand military officers and fro the years 2010 and 2011 the quantity should be increased up to the number 212, 162 military officers in particular.
According to Yu. Ekhanurov, "adoption of the law would provide the legal regulation of the issue on the quantity of the Armed Forces".
The Chairman of the Sub-Committee, O. Kuzmuk explained that the suggested Bill contradicts with the State Program of Armed Forces Development as according to it, the different figures of Armed Forces Quantity are declared.
O. Kuzmuk suggested that the title of the Bill should be changed into "On Overall Strength of the Army of Ukraine for the Year 2009" and the quantity of people should be 191 thousand , 148 thousand military officers in particular.
The members of the Committee upheld the motion.
Taking into account all the suggested motions the members of the Committee recommends that the Parliament adopts the Bill in the first reading with its further scrutinizing.
