The Bill (Reg. No.3639) restores such a sanction as deprivation of State decorations of persons who committed a grave or especially grave crime. Thus, the Bill authorizes courts to scrutinize the said issues and forward relevant appeals to the President of Ukraine.
The Committee objects to the said proposal, as it is suggested that the Criminal Code includes the regulation not liable to the competence of the criminal law.
The People´s Deputies believe that the idea of the Bill can be realized in a different way: either by means of considering deprivation of State decorations as a criminal penalty with simultaneous introduction of amendments to the Law "On the State Decorations of Ukraine" or by means of amendments to Article 324 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
