The Committee on Human Rights, National Minorities and International Relations recommends that the Parliament adopts the Bill on Amendments to the Law "On The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ombudsman" (re Period of Authorities) as a Basis

The Bill (Reg. No.2702) extends the period of authorities of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ombudsman from five till seven years.

The Committee members believe that adoption of the Bill will secure independent activity of the Ombudsman and enhance efficient exertion of parliamentary control in the field of human rights protection.
