The responsibility for committing criminal offenses against journalists has been strengthened

The draft Law No. 3633 “On Amendments to the Criminal Code of Ukraine on Strengthening Liability for Committing Criminal Offenses against Journalists” was adopted as a basis.

The bill criminalizes seven to fourteen years for threatening to kill, rape, destroy or damage the property of a journalist, his or her close relatives or family members, intentional infliction of light, medium or severe injuries in connection with a journalist's legitimate professional activity, committed repeatedly or by prior conspiracy by a group of persons or an organized group.
