Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, stressed the Urgent Necessity to overcome the Aftermath of Chornobyl Disaster
On Wednesday, 22 April, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, made a working visit to the "Chornobylska AES" State specialized enterprise.
V.Lytvyn laid flowers to the monuments "To the Rescuers of the World" and to the perished employees of Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant "For the sake of Life", surveyed the works at the "Ukryttia" object, the conditions of construction of a liquid radioactive waste recycling plant, and completion of construction of an industrial solid radioactive waste recycling complex.
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine also met the personnel of "Chornobylska AES" State specialized enterprise and held a press conference for mass media.
"We face the necessity of adopting the "Chornobyl Code" to unite and unify all the Laws appertaining to the said issues", - stated Volodymyr Lytvyn. "However, first and foremost, we have to secure implementation of the effective legislation and those Laws and resolutions that will be adopted in future. We need a relevant financial foundation for that".
