Mykola Tomenko: The National Bank and the Government have to finance the Sports and effect Payment of Rewards obtained by the Sportsmen for the Victory at the Olympic Games
Mykola Tomenko, Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, forwarded an appeal to the Head of the National Bank of Ukraine with a request to settle the matter concerning payment of rewards obtained by the Ukrainian sportsmen for the victory at the Olympic Games.
M.Tomenko made the above-mentioned statement at Monday´s briefing. Thus, he received appeals from several Ukrainian champions of XXIX Olympic Games in Beijing who reported the impossibility to receive their rewards for the victory at the Olympic Games placed at the deposit accounts at "Rodovid Bank" OJSC.
The Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is convinced that the National Bank of Ukraine jointly with the Government should exert every effort to restore funding of the sports sector and secure payment of rewards received by the sportsmen for the victory at the Olympic games.
