Political system of the country will not change, unless the election system is altered. Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, made the above-mentioned statement at the press conference in Poltava on Wednesday.
"People should know whom they vote for, then they will be interested in the support of political institutions", - stated V.Lytvyn. He stressed the importance of introducing a mixed-type or majority system of elections, stating that it appertained primarily to the elections to the local councils.
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine predicted a long-lasting discussion concerning the said matter. He also underscored: "There will be no political renewal in the country, unless the elections are held under an acceptance and comprehensible system".
