During the year 2008 to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine 82,5 thousand motions, applications and complaints were directed, that is in 15,8 thousand (27,8%) more than in year 2007.
In last year to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine authority 1180 citizen appealed. By the Committees and Special Control panel of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Privatization Issues were scrutinized 17,8 motions, applications and complaints that in 3,1 thousand (23,5%) more than in 2007. by the Deputies Factions 9,5 thousand motions, appellations and complains were worked out. etc.
During the year 2008 88,2 thousand issues were touched upon in the citizen appellations to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The issues that prevailed: providing lawfulness and protection of rules of law (35,2%); social and pension protection (14,8 %); economics, market relations, privatization, price police, taxation reformation etc (10,4%); regarding housing and public utility authority and roads (7,5 %); re life in Ukraine and abroad, re work of the Verkhovna Rada, President of Ukraine, Cabinet of Ministers etc.
During the last year in 2,5 (from 1302 to 3313) times increased the quantity of motions, appellations and complaints regarding issues on state building, sovereignty, relations among countries and nationalities. The majority of letters concerns the attitudes of Ukrainian citizen to the membership in NATO and allotment the Russian language the status of the second state language.
Motions, appellations and complaints of the citizen also concerned religion (2381 document), helath protection (2224); industry, building; fuel and power complex (1097); activity of political parties, trades unions etc (646); culture, art, physical training, sport and tourism etc -448
All citizen appellations to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine are scrutinized according to the current system of laws.
According to the statistics during the year 2008 to the People´s Deputies of Ukraine of the Sixth Convocation 336,4 thousand electors appealed; 160,2 thousand written applications were scrutinized, 36,8 thousand personal meetings and 87,5 thousand meetings with the citizen were held.
