Mykola Tomenko: Resignation of the Government is possible provided the President of Ukraine gives his Consent
Mykola Tomenko, Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, announced that the BYuT faction registered a resolution on actual cancellation of parliamentary holidays at The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
Pursuant to the Resolution "On the Schedule of the Third Session of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the Sixth Convocation", on 19-23 January, the People´s Deputies will work in the Committees and Factions, and on 26-30 January with electors. Thus, there will be a possibility to elaborate the resolution on the non-confidence to the government.
Moreover, Mykola Tomenko stated that The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine would be able to pass a resolution on resignation of the government only with the consent of President Viktor Yushchenko. As of the present day, 202 People´s Deputies, members of the Party of Regions and the CPU Factions, are willing to support resignation of the government of Yulia Tymoshenko.
"A single decision can not be adopted without the votes of the Deputies-members of "Our Ukraine" and "Yedyny Centr"; therefore, our Bloc is willing to listen to the stand of the President of Ukraine regarding this issue. We should understand whether Yushchenko upholds the idea of immediate change of the government or the idea of cessation of the political show that bears negative influence upon the reputation of the Cabinet of Ministers, especially, under the conditions of ongoing gas negotiations", - stated Mykola Tomenko.
