V.Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, predicts "a powerful politicization" of issues under the scrutiny of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
V.Lytvyn stated that adoption of politicized issues started with the Bill on the ad hoc special and inquiry panels of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted by 363 votes. He predicted that in the next week, the Parliament members would insist that the said document be adopted as the Law.
Answering the journalists´ questions, V.Lytvyn expressed the opinion that Ukraine should "display sound egoism". He believes that Ukraine can not be totally independent in the present globalized and mutually interconnected world. However, he deems necessary to "determine the threshold not to be crossed, as it means the loss of a native home and the Statehood".
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine deems necessary to define "the concepts of the Statehood, sovereignty and independence, and only afterwards to cooperate with everybody and conduct State policy that should have the signs of egoism and take into account interests and needs of the Ukrainian nation".
