New Year greetings of Mykola Tomenko, Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine:
"I send my greetings on the occasion of the New Year, and may the next year be a time of stability, certainty and optimism.
Historians and politicians claim that the wish to live in a year without revolutions and recessions is a traditionally good one. At present, it is a crucial issue for the Ukrainians. Therefore, may all of you live in the country based on stability and confidence in the future.
Profiting by the occasion, I would like to wish you and your families to be lively and joyful in the period of celebration of the New Year holidays, as this time is usually spent within the circle of family and friends.
I prepared a special gift for the healthy lifestyle: pursuant to the suggested Law, since 1 January 2009, advertising of alcoholic beverages and tobacco goods by out-of-home media will be prohibited. On the whole, one should observe an energetic, healthy and sporty lifestyle. They say, one can even evade the crisis, leading such a life.
I am convinced that only a healthy and active nation can feel confident in this complicated life. I wish you sound health, strength, stability and well-being in 2009!"
