On Monday, within the scope of his working visit to the Russian Federation, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, met Dmitry Medvedev, President of the Russian Federation.

 

During the meeting, the Parties discussed a wide range of issues concerning bilateral cooperation in the economic, social and humanitarian fields.

 

V.Lytvyn and D.Medvedev dwelled upon the Ukrainian-Russian relations in the gas sector and stated the importance of securing their transparency, mutual benefit and efficiency. The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine expressed his hopes that the governments of Ukraine and Russia would succeed in solving all the problematic issues in this sector of financial-economic bilateral relations.   

 

The Parties also deem necessary to promote cooperation at the inter-parliamentary level, which should bear positive influence on the efficiency of the inter-State dialogue in all the fields.

 

V.Lytvyn expressed his gratitude to D.Medvedev for the high level of meetings that were held during the working visit of the delegation of the Ukrainian Parliament to the Russian Federation.  He is convinced that it testifies of special concern of the Russian Party with further development of bilateral relations.
