The Committee on State Building and Local Self-Government recommends that the Parliament adopts as a Basis the Bill "On Amendments to certain Laws of Ukraine" (re Observance of Secrecy of the Ballot)

The Bill (Reg. No.2518) introduces amendments to the Laws "On Election of Deputies of The Verkhovna Rada of the Crimean Autonomous Republic, Local Councils, and Village, Settlement and City Mayors" and "On Election of People´s Deputies of Ukraine". The amendments prohibit the use of mobile phones, cameras, camcorders, other special devices by means of which photo or video can be taken in the moment when an elector fills in a ballot at the polling booth.

Implementation of the Bill will secure observance of the secrecy of the ballot, and prevent employment of illegal election techniques during the voting.
