Mykola Tomenko: The Necessity to fully renew the Financing of the Specialized Sport Schools for Children and Teenagers in Kyiv
Today, the meeting on the state of the budget financing of the programs of development of the physical culture and sport in Kyiv and also regarding the reconstruction of National Sport Complex "Olimpiyskiy".
The financing state is critical. The sport schools have lease debts. The debts of the four main sport schools (choky, figure skating, fencing, callisthenics) are nearly 1 mln.grn.
The importance of the immediate specialized sport schools financing in order not to let them being closed was stressed. The First Vice-Chairman of the Kyiv State Administration, Evgen Chervonenko officially claimed that the financing problem will be sold during one week.
There were also report of the National Olympic Committee, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Family Matters, Youth Policy, Sports and Tourism and Vice-Minister on Finance regarding the situation with the budget financing of the physical culture and sport for the next year was heard. It was stressed that it is not possible to let the decrease in expenses for the children and teenagers sport and also regarding the national team preparation for the winter Olympiad in Vancouver in year 2010.
Mykola Tomenko recommended that the special meeting regarding the reconstruction of National Sport Complex "Olimpiyskiy" should be held. The special attention should be paid to the fact that the State Enterprise National Sport Complex "Olimpiyskiy" has concluded a treaty with the working-by-contract enterprises in the sum of 1 767,4 mln.grn.
"It is suspicious that the authors of the NSC "Olimpiyskiy recommended one of the most expensive stadium reconstruction in the history", - the Vice-Chairman stressed. That is why he advised the special meeting on the NSC "Olimpiyskiy" reconstruction issue.
