The Bill (Reg. No.0099) envisages Ukraine´s accession to the Convention that was adopted by a Diplomatic meeting of International Civil Aviation Organization member states in Montreal in 1999.
The Montreal Convention that involves 83 States modernizes international legal regulations in the field of carriage by air.
The Convention raises the compensation for the victims of air disasters by international carriage by air. The Convention also defines responsibility of air carriers for the delay of flight, lets them operate economically at the expense of use of simplified travel documents, renders an opportunity of accession to it not only of the participating States, but also regional economic integration organizations, etc.
The Committee members believe that adoption of the Bill will promote implementation of the State policy related to the European integration of Ukraine.
