In the course of the meeting, held at request of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, the Parties discussed Ukrainian-Chinese cooperation. The Committee Chairman remarked on a dynamic character of relations between Ukraine and the People´s Republic of China and expressed "willingness of the Ukrainian Party to actively cooperate at the parliamentary level". Oleh Bilorus informed the audience of the political situation in Ukraine.
The Parties also discussed possible methods for the leaders of both States to minimize the influence of the global financial crisis on the economy of Ukraine and China.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China stressed the importance of inter-parliamentary contacts between the countries, and stated that the Chinese Party was willing to continue cooperation. Zhou Li informed the audience of the political situation in China.
Furthermore, the Parties stressed the importance to extend cooperation in the trade and economic sectors, and other areas of common interest.
