Mykola Tomenko: The Parliament fulfilled the minimum program of Viktor Yushchenko and is waiting for President´s congratulations.
Commenting on the possible President´s response to the yesterday´s events at the Parliament, Mykola Tomenko, Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, stated that Viktor Yushchenko should appreciate election of a new Chairman and congratulate the Parliament on fulfillment of the minimum program set before his Faction and the Verkhovna Rada at the end of November.
According to Mykola Tomenko, the President has persistently stressed the importance of election of a Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada, adoption of anti-recessionary Bills and the State Budget for 2009, and called for "thinking over the Coalition" only afterwards.
"The President´s minimum program was fulfilled by yesterday´s election of a Chairman; therefore, I am convinced that voting for the anti-recessionary Bills will start on Thursday. This voting will be effective", - stated Mykola Tomenko.
He believes that all political forces will vote for the Bills, since every Faction represented at the Parliament, irregardless of its intention to enter either a new coalition, or opposition, has persistently stressed the importance of adoption of such laws.
