The Bill (Reg. No.3383) supplements the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Infringements with Clause 4-А "Practice of Compulsory Medical Treatment of Alcoholism, Drug Addiction or Toxicomania", pursuant to which "such medical treatment is assigned by court irregardless of penalty for persons who abuse alcoholic beverages, narcotic or psychotropic substances and committed any of the violations envisaged by the Special Part of the said Code three times within one year".
The Bill also supplements Chapter V of the Code with a new clause that defines the procedure of fulfilling court´s resolution concerning compulsory medical treatment of alcoholism, drug addiction and toxicomania and period of such treatment.
The author of deems necessary to adopt the Bill, as the problem of fighting alcoholism, drug addiction and toxicomania is topical for the modern society.
The People´s Deputies upheld the idea of the Bill, though expressed a number of remarks.
