Oleksandr Lavrynovych, First Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, met Emomali Rahmon, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, within the scope of his working visit to Ukraine.
The Parties discussed a wide range of issues concerning bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and Tajikistan, and stressed the importance of their further promotion on the grounds of universal values.
The interlocutors deem necessary to give impetus to the trade and economic cooperation, especially within the scope of implementation of the bilateral Agreement on Free Trade. Ukrainian politician also expressed his hopes for successful cooperation in the energy sector.
The Parties also deem necessary to extend and promote cooperation in the fields of culture, art and tourism, which will be facilitated by a number of inter-governmental and inter-departmental agreements signed by the President of Tajikistan in the course of his visit.
Dwelling upon inter-parliamentary relations between Ukraine and Tajikistan, the Parties expressed their concern with the development of such a sector of inter-State cooperation, and stressed their willingness to set up groups of parliamentary liaison.
E. Rahmon, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, invited O.Lavrynovych to make a visit in his country.
