The International Monetary Fund offers a 16,4 billion USD loan to Ukraine. The said resolution was announced at the sitting of the IMF Board of Directors in Washington, D.C. (USA) with the participation of Arseniy Yatseniuk, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
According to the Head of Ukrainian Parliament, "resolution of the International Monetary Fund is a supremely important signal for all other international investors".
In the course of the conversation with IMF representatives, Arseniy Yatseniuk assured his interlocutors that the loan granted would be used in the most transparent way.
"I hope that Ukraine will use a fractional amount of the loan granted. The main target of the loan is the support of stabilization policy. It should be allocated for the development of Ukrainian economy", - stated Arseniy Yatseniuk.
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stressed that "it was the first resolution of the Board of Directors of the International Monetary Fund concerning overcoming of financial crisis, and it appertained to Ukraine".
As it has been reported earlier, on 4 November 2008, Arseniy Yatseniuk, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, urgently left with a working visit to Washington, D.C. (USA) in order to hold negotiations concerning issue of the IMF loan to Ukraine.
