Declaration
Information concerning falsification of the Law of Ukraine "On Immediate Measure to be taken in order to prevent Negative Consequences of the Financial Crisis, and Amendments to certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine", disseminated by certain political forces, is false.
The Parliament has actually declined a 2-year moratorium on increase of minimum wage to the living-wage. The effective and promulgated Law fails to include the said regulation, as it failed to be endorsed by the People´s Deputies of Ukraine. At the same time, the Law includes the regulation that was upheld by the majority of People´s Deputies, which is recorded in the short-hand record of the plenary meeting. The said regulation totally complies with the effective Law of Ukraine "On Indexation of Citizens´ Income" as regards necessary adjustment of minimum wage and living-wage for the rate of inflation.
Pursuant to the Standing Orders of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Bill was elaborated and submitted for signature of the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada by profile Committees, namely, The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Taxation and Customs Policy and The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Economic Policy.
The Bill in question was conciliated by V.Pynzenyk, Minister of Finance, B.Danylyshyn, Minister of Economy and Yu.Tymoshenko, Prime-Minister of Ukraine. Therefore, assumptions concerning falsification are of political and pre-election character.
