The Committee members scrutinized the letter of the Central Election Commission of Ukraine and appeals of Mukachevo, Kremin and Feodosia city territorial election commission, which declare "the impossibility to hold early elections of village, settlement and city mayors scheduled for 30 November 2008".
According to the People´s Deputies, insufficient financing renders impossible to hold early elections in 138 territorial election districts.
Thus, in accordance with estimations of the Central Election Commission, expenditures for holding the elections on 30 November total 6,8 million UAH.
Therefore, the Committee resolved to address:
- the Committee on Budget with a request to scrutinize the Bill on amendments to the Law "On State Budget of Ukraine for Year 2008 and Amendments to certain Legislative Acts" (Reg. No. 3206), and take due account of the motion introduced by the Committee on State Building and Local Self-Government concerning suitability of adopting the Bill as a basis and in its entirety;
- A.Yatseniuk, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, with a motion to include the Bill in question into the agenda of the Parliament´s plenary meeting scheduled for 21 October 2008;
- the President of Ukraine with a request to cancel the Decree № 911 of 09.10.2008 "On Early Termination of Authorities of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the Sixth Convocation and Assignment of Early Elections".
