The Bill (Reg. No.3008) employs State regulation in order to settle the issue of indentification, centralized registration of number, relocation and slaughther of livestock.
According to the People´s Deputies, the Bill introduces a system of identification and registration of animals in order to secure supervision over veterinary and sanitary conditions of enterprises and origin of meat, and render complete and reliable information concerning identification and registration of animals.
Elaboration of the Bill was caused by the necessity to coordinate normative and legislative base of Ukraine with legislation of the European Union as regards those legislative acts that oblige the owners of animals to take measures related to identification and registration of livestock.
The Committee believes that adoption of the Bill will secure control over the health conditions of animals, as well as safety of livestock production.
