Mykola Tomenko: The Actual inactivity of the Authorities should not be covered by the courage of Olympic Competitors.

During the meeting with the representatives of the profile Ministry of the Parliamentary Committee, the Chairman of NOC, trades unions, sport communities, the Vice-Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Mykola Tomenko declared that without the clear state strategy the results of the sport institutions will remain on the low rate.

Mykola Tomenko stressed that according to the research made by Kyiv Regional Scientific-Research Institute of Experimental Projecting in Ukraine, the provision of the population with the area buildings constitutes approximately 70%, with the swimming pools 20%, sport halls 40 %. More than a half of the sport buildings have been built more than 20 years ago and 80% of them do not correspond to the modern conditions. During the years of Independence no modern sport institution was built in Ukraine. The only exception Ice Palace in Donetsk.

According to the Vice-Chairman, the main problem is that no Ministry and no Department that have the wardship of the problem have no strategy in this sphere.

he declared that in the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Fedreation of Trade Unions and other public organisations, in the ownwership of which these objects are, the situation is even worse.

He stressed that the Program "Ukrainian Hokey", that have been adopted several years ago, have actually been frustrated.

The most regrettable information concerns the objects of Euro 2012, as far as no one can answer yet, who, what and when will build on the NSC "Olimpiyskyi" .

Mykola Tomenko recommends working out the clear state strategy regarding the building of the national sport infrastructure up to the year 2015.

M. Tomenko stressed that it should be put an end to the situation when the actual inactivity of the Authorities concerning the building and forming of the sport infrastructure is covered by the courage and victories of Olympic Competitors.
