The legislative act was elaborated in order to coordinate the Criminal Code of Ukraine with the Law "On Protection of Childhood" and the Family Code of Ukraine.
Paragraph 2 of Article 1 and Part 2 of Article 155 "Sexual Intercourse with a Person who has not reached the Age of Puberty" of the Criminal Code of Ukraine is exposed in the following version:
"are punished by custodial restraint for the period of up to 5 years or imprisonment for the same period;
2. Similar actions committed by a farther, a mother, a stepfather, a stepmother, a custodian, a person in charge of upbringing or care of a victim or care, in case they caused sterility or other grave consequences, - are punished by imprisonment for the period of five-eight years with deprivation of right to hold certain office or conduct certain activity for the period of three years or without such".
A relevant Bill was registered at The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine by Reg. No. 0962.
