Arseniy Yatseniuk, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, held clear-cut and efficient consultation with Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, over the telephone. The Parties exchanged their opinions concerning situation in the area of the conflict between Georgia and South Ossetia .
A.Yatseniuk considers full cessation of hostilities at the territory of Georgia of utmost importance.
In the course of the consultation, the Parties reached an agreement that it was necessary to hold urgent discussion concerning transition of ships of the Russian Federation Black Sea Fleet at the meeting of the Sub-Commission on the Black Sea Fleet.
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine reminded the Head of the Russian External Policy Administration that relations between Ukraine and Georgia in the military engineering field were maintained exclusively within the scope of international standards and regulations, which was regularly reported by the United Nations Organization. Relevant data was entered into the munitions list envisaged by the Wassenaar Arrangement. A.Yatseniuk stated that Ukraine did not plan deliveries of extra munitions to the Georgian Party.
In the course of the consultation, the Parties also discussed the issue concerning free transport of humanitarian aid and commercial cargo.
