According to the report, the Committee focused its activity on the enhancement of quality of education, development of science, improvement of labour conditions of the personnel, coordination of the national legislation with international standards and regulations.
For the accounting period, the Committee has held 15 conferences, symposiums and seminars, including 7 "Round Tables" in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Simferopol, Sumy, Vinnytsia, Odesa, Lviv. The Committee scrutinized 1085 appeals and complaints of the natural persons and legal entities.
Due to the report, the Committee aimed at realization of control over implementation of the current legislation.
Moreover, the People´s Deputies listened to the report of the Ministry of Education and Science regarding implementation of the Committee´s resolution of 13.02.2008 "On Implementation of the Laws of Ukraine "On Education" and "On Secondary Education" regarding Control over Attestation and Assessment of Knowledge of Pupils (Disciples) of Secondary Education Establishments".
The Committee held two joint meetings with the Consultative Council on Informatization under The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to discuss the prospects and targets of Ukraine´s integration into world information space.
The Committee members secured successful holding of external independent assessment, and minimization of risks related to testing.
During the Third Session of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the Sixth Convocation, the Committee plans to start its work with the Committee hearings on the subject "Efficient Application of Ukrainian Legislation in the Field of Copyright and Relevant Rights".
