It is almost twice more than during the similar period of the previous year. As it is stated by the Department of Citizens´ Applications of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Secretariate, the reason of addressers activity can be first of all the intensity of political and economic life of the country.
10 thousand citizens´ applications were scrutinized by The Committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and 5 thousand applications were scrutinized by the Deputy Factions. 32 372 proffers, applications and citizens´ complaints were scrutinized by The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Secretariate Structural Departments.
Comparatively with the similar period of the previous year the quantity of the proffers, applications and citizens´ complaints regarding state housing, sovereignity, intergovernmental and international relations has increased nearly in three times. Approximately half of the letters is regarding affiliation of Ukraine to the Plan of Actions regarding membership in NATO.
In general, 50 772 issues were raised in citizens´ letters, that have been received by the Parliament during the first six months of the year. The problems of guarantee of legitimacy and law and order insurance(30,3%), social protection and provisions of pensions (15,2%), restructuring of the economy, market relations, entrepreneurship, privatization, price policy, and taxes (12,8%), housing and communal and roads services (6,6%), evaluation of The President of Ukraine, The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine activity and the work of the Power Bodies (6,3%) represent the chief role in applications, the same as it used to be before.
During January-June 2008 The Parliament received:
65508 applications regarding restructuring of the economy, market relations, entrepreneurship, privatization, price policy, and taxes. It is 3623 applications more than during the same period of the previous year.
During the first six months of the current year Verkhovna Rada received 3397 applications regarding housing and communal and roads services.
During January-June 2008 The Parliament received only 7737 proffers, applications and citizens´ complaints regarding the social protection and provisions of pensions. In January-June 2007 The Parliament received 11 504 or 24,1% of the similar applications.
Proffers, applications and citizens´ complaints are scrutinized according to the legislation in force.
According to the corresponding instruction of The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, in the reception room of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine 33 personal appointments were held. 332 visitors from all the regions of Ukraine have attended them.
According to the information granted by the secretariate of The Deputy Factions, from the beginning of the current year 186 249 voters have addresses The People´s Deputies. More than 70 thousand written applications have been scrutinized, 20 407 personal appointments and 46 563 meeting with the voters were held.
