The meeting was attended by the People´s Deputies, representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers, the Ministry for Family, Youth and Sports, other officials, representatives of public organizations and sport voluntary associations, entrepreneurs.
Pavlo Kostenko, Committee Chairman, presented the Bill (Reg. No. 2562) elaborated by the People´s Deputies. He stated that the said Bill can be regarded as a sports constitution that will promote healthy style of life and facilitate development of Olympic and paralympic movement.
The Bill defines organizational and legal terms for efficient development of children, junior and reserve sports. The Bill also regulates formation of the national team and defines the legal status of the professional sportsmen.
The regulations of the Bill also envisage creation of the sport arbitration tribunal of Ukraine.
Yuriy Pavlenko, Minister for Family, Youth and Sports, presented the governmental Bill.
The attendants of the hearings deem necessary to improve the regulations of the said Bill appertaining to the public funding of physical culture and sports, and attraction of extrabudgetary funds for the development of the said sector.
Moreover, Committee members deem necessary to improve regulations concerning social protection of the sportsmen of higher classes, and training of coaching personnel for work with children.
The attendants of the hearings resolved to set up a Working Group in order to unify the said Bills with due consideration of introduced remarks and motions. Then, the single Bill is to be brought before Parliament.
