On Saturday, 14 June, Arseniy Yatseniuk, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, congratulated residents of Sevastopol on the 225th anniversary since the foundation of a hero city Sevastopol.
Arseniy Yatseniuk underscored special significance of Sevastopol for Ukraine, and for common history of Russia and Ukraine.
Arseniy Yatseniuk also stated that heroic past and glorious present time of the city was noted by Ukrainian parliament members who adopted the Law of Ukraine "On a Hero City Sevastopol" in Year 2006, granting a special status to the city.
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is convinced that Ukrainian nation will take pride in Sevastopol and its everlasting glory, and famous traditions of a hero city will be maintained by future generations.
