The hearings were attended by the People´s Deputies of Ukraine, representatives of relevant ministries and departments, sectoral organizations, enterprises and associations of the mining and smelting sector.
The participants of the hearings discussed a number of issues, and paid special attention to the depreciation of fixed assets (65%).
The Committee deems necessary to create an inter-departmental commission to monitor influence of transport tariff policy on the economy. It is also necessary to settle the issue concerning lack of wagons by promoting private rolling stock extension.
The People´s Deputies believe that the Ministry of the Environmental Protection of Ukraine should create conditions necessary for declaration of moratorium on any increase of resource payments till geological and economic, and cost estimation of mineral resources deposits is completed.
