William Tailor, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the USA to Ukraine, attended the meeting.
During the meeting the Parties discussed a number of issues regarding bilateral relations between the countries, cooperation between the United States Congress and The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine.
The Chairmen of the Committees informed the audience of the political situation in Ukraine; expressed their opinions on necessity to secure stable work of Ukrainian Parliament.
The Ukrainian Party declared steady course of our State towards European and Euro-Atlantic integration. They commented on importance of the Ukrainian Parliament in the said process. Thus, the Treaty on Ukraine´s accession to the WTO was signed in Geneva, and The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is to ratify it in order to make it effective.
The representatives of the Ukrainian Party also emphasized the necessity to promote information support of further movement of Ukraine towards membership in the NATO, and expressed their reliance upon the assistance of the United States Congress.
