The Committee on State Building and Local Self-Government recommends that The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopts at the Second Reading the Bill on Amendments to the Law "On the Local Self-Government in Ukraine" (re Terms of Office of a Head of a Local Council; Village, Settlement and City Mayor; Chairman of a Local, District, District in the City Council; Vice-Chairman of a Regional, District, District in the City Council)

The Bill (Reg. No.0901) specifies the relevant regulations of the Law appertaining to the terms of office of the Heads of local councils; village, settlement and city mayors; Chairmen and Vice-Chairmen of regional, district, district in the city councils, and the time of their termination.

Inter alia, the Committee members upheld the amendment, pursuant to which, "the terms of office of a village, settlement, city mayor, elected at the regular local election, are defined by the Constitution of Ukraine".
