On Tuesday, Arseniy Yatseniuk, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, met George Bush, President of the United States of America, and Condoleezza Rice, the US Secretary of State within the scope of the official visit of the US President to Ukraine.
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine underscored importance of the official visit of the US President to Ukraine. He highly appreciated Ukrainian-American talks held on 1 April, and conclusion of a number of important bilateral documents, especially "The Road Map".
The Parties discussed the issues concerning extended bilateral cooperation in the economic sector.
The Parties also discussed enhancement of bilateral dialogue in the power economy, especially in the field of energy safety, development of mineral resources and search after alternative energy sources.
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine informed George Bush of different political opinions concerning Ukraine´s accession to the NATO.
