Arseniy Yatseniuk, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, regards the Black Sea Economic Cooperation as an "important platform" for settlement of regional economic and political issues.

 

A.Yatseniuk delivered a speech at the the Summit of Chairmen of the Member States of Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation, which is being held in Athens (the Hellenic Republic). A.Yatseniuk regarded energy problems as "a formidable challenge for all the BSEC Member State". He deems necessary to bend every effort to their settlement.

 

According to the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, political stability is a necessary precondition for the development of the Black Sea Region Countries.

 

Dwelling upon Kosovo issue, the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine emphasized that the BSEC Member States should pay due attention to it.

 

A.Yatseniuk believes that the Black Sea Region Countries should take into consideration such challenges as terrorism and human trafficking, and spare no effort in the settlement of the said matters.

 

The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine called for holding a joint sitting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation and other BSEC bodies in order to revise and ratify a new economic agenda.
