Elaboration of the said Concept should become the first stage of the legislative regulation of normative and legal basis in the field of language policy.
The People´s Deputies listened to the report of O.Bench, Vice-Minister of Culture and Tourism of Ukraine.
The official stated that the said document became the subject of public discussions. Thus, the Draft Concept was upheld by the National Council for Culture and Spirituality under the President of Ukraine, delegates of the 5th Congress of Ukrainian Writers, and Ukrainian World Congress. Furthermore, it was approved by the central executive bodies.
On 23 April 2008, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the Draft Concept, and commissioned the Ministry of Culture and Tourism to introduce necessary amendments due to the results of the discussion.
Then the Draft Concept was forwarded to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Secretariat of the President of Ukraine.
