On Friday, Arseniy Yatseniuk, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, met Knut Vollebaek, the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities.
At the meeting the Parties discussed a number of issues concerning national minorities in Ukraine, especially legislative support of rights of the deported in the Crimean Autonomous Republic and determination of their status.
Knut Vollebaek calls for holding "a round table" on the problems of the deported in September-October 2008. The European experts and representatives of Ukrainian authority are to attend the discussion.
The Parties also discussed a number of issues concerning status of other national minorities in Ukraine, especially the so-called language issue.
