The Committee on Environmental Policy, Use of Natural Resources and Elimination of Consequences of Chornobyl Disaster recommends that the Parliament adopts the Bill "On the National Target Environmental Program of Nuclear Waste Treatment" as a Basis

The Bill (Reg. No.2182), submitted by the Cabinet of Ministers, aims at realization of the State policy in the field of nuclear waste treatment for Years 2008-2017.

The Program aims at creation of a Single State System of Nuclear Waste Treatment that will secure full completed processing cycle of nuclear waste from the moment of its formation till its disposal.

The Committee members deem necessary to elaborate normative and legal basis in the said field, introduce new technologies of preliminary nuclear waste processing at the nuclear power plants of Ukraine, secure scientific and technical support and international cooperation.
