The meeting was attended by the People´s Deputies, officials of the Government, members of the National Trilateral Social and Economic Council by the President of Ukraine, representatives of national associations of trade unions and employers, board members and directors of executive boards of social insurance funds, representatives of public associations.
Vasyl Khara, Committee Chairman, stated that the profile committee is to scrutinize three Bills on compulsory State social medical insurance, submitted by the People´s Deputies. However, the said Bills regulate similar issues, and are regarded as alternative.
According to the authors of the Bills, their legislative initiatives aim at provision of due medical assistance for the insured persons, and at improvement of medical services.
The participants of the "Round Table" called for "introduction of compulsory medical insurance only due to the principles defined by the Constitution and legislation of Ukraine on compulsory State social insurance".
The participants appealed to A.P.Yatseniuk, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Yu.V.Tymoshenko, Prime-Minister of Ukraine, and Chairmen of the parliamentary factions with a request to endorse the resolution of the Committee on Social Policy and Labour to adopt the Bill as a basis.
