The Bill (Reg. No.2477) defines the procedure of establishing the said associations and terminating their activity; determines rights and duties of such associations; regulates the issue concerning cooperation between the associations, and public and local self-government bodies.
Pursuant to the Bill, local associations will be established to coordinate the efforts of local self-government bodies of one or more regions of Ukraine, especially, elaboration and implementation of special projects and programs of social, economic and cultural development of territorial communities.
Due to their status, the association will be divided into national and local. The national association will represent and protect local and regional interests, and the rights of local self-government bodies in their relations with the public authority bodies.
The People´s Deputies intend to invite the representatives of voluntary associations of the local self-government bodies, whilst preparing the Bill for the Second Reading.
